We didn't have any real plans for today in Venice, so we decided to see the Medici Chapel

On our way to Venice, Kent texted
'There was crazy routefinding and huge exposure. 
Once I got on the main ridge and path it was good rock but I have alot of stories on this one!!!
Happy to be down. 
There was some hard crack climbing with some ice with 3000 - 5000' of exposure. 
On the ridge coming down couldn't find the start of one of the crux sections when looking down from above. 
Long story, but I eventually found it after about 20m. 
Was exciting as fuck!
Hotel where I left my bags just comped me a free beer.
I guess she could tell I needed one!
Sudgrat - south ridge - AD
I followed the ridge until top of first peak.
I should have just climbed the bisshorn snowplod, but was excited for the challenging rock on that rig.
Went up with a Frenchman who said 'I think today is the day'

They waved at each other when Kent was way up high.
The French guy was floundering badly, never made it anyway near the ridge.
Kent got to the place where you need to rappel 100'.
Other offered to let him ride their rope down, but they were continueing a traverse over to the hut, not going back the same way they came

Kent texted
'my entire body hurts. 
Just want water beer and shower. 
Just heading back to Martigny for my $70 room. 
Then heading to Geneva in the morning for the fetes party
I've fallen asleep in Martigny more times with all my clothes on than not.
I've stayed here probably 10 nights'

I replied to Kent
[Ray, Paul and I] just arrived Venice, we are sweatbombs.  Not as hot as Florence, but more humid.

Our room for 3 at Rick Steve's favorite Hotel Pensione Guerrato.for 155 cash per night
I booked this room back in November cause I knew Rick Steve's tours book every room in the place for extended periods of time throughout the summer.
This is the same place we stayed in 2012, though not the same room.

Eventually we found the most touristy bland square possible.
I'd eaten here before and had no desire to eat here again.
The experience matched my expectations, pretty touristy...

The cafes wanted 14 or 15 euros for a liter of beer in San Marco... we bought our own elsewhere...
