I've gotten into the habit of paying for my room the night before I
check out.
I developed this habat after Paul, Jed and I had to
wait hours for the lazy owner of the Hotel Adler in Stein am Rhein in
2015 before we could check out.
I didn't check out early from the Hotel Mirreli since I'd seen staff
around at all hours of the day and night.
Imagine my surprise when the guy staffing the front desk at 7am told me
I'd need to wait until 8am to check out...
I had purchased my ticket to see Otzi for 11am, and it appearred you
only get about a 5 minute grace period before you are sent to the back
to the back of the line to come in with everyone who doesn't have a
reservation.
At 8am I checked out and started driving downhill to Bolzano on windy
mountain roads...that lasted forever... and ever... and ever...
watching google maps the entire time to see my estimated arrival in
Bolzano grow closer and closer to 11am
I made a wrong turn at the insane spaghetti junction in Bolzano, the
second time I've made the same wrong turn since I rented a car there in 2017.
That cost me at least 5 minutes that I didn't have...
Finally I got close to the museum only to find I was too close, there
wasn't any parking nearby, as I drove around the block.
I crossed back across the bridge over Talvera river and managed to find
street parking pretty quickly.
I ran as fast as I could to the museum and didn't have any problems
getting in after they made me check my backpack.

Otzi is on the second floor.
This is the line to see Otzi through a 18" x 24" window into his
freezer.
I didn't realize it when I took this picture, but you aren't allowed to
take any pictures on this floor since this is where all the cool stuff
is.
I didn't try to take a picture of Otzi himself or anything else on that
floor.

didn't happen, way too much driving today

it was in its own display cause in the center of the walkway and didn't
have a huge display against the way like most items

Within about 45 minutes I was done.
Here's the line for people who don't plan ahead - they get to wait.
Got back to the car, started driving again.
I'd driving the first few kilometers of this, but after that this was
all new again.
On to Leinz.
I got gas and found a supermarket before I left Italy.
I wanted to find gusto limonade gatorade, and I've only seen it sold in
Italy.
I found Italian lemon soda, that would have to do.
I bypassed Leinz and drove a few km past it to Aguntum.
They were closing the doors when I got there around 3:30
I was a little disappointed, I'd have to come back another day.

Vergeiner's Hotel Traube
My single room is the biggest single I've had, 80 euros..
Supposed 4 star hotel, decent pool and spa on the top floor but the
rest of the place is very run down..
my room even has a tub, which is unheardof
I went and explored Lienz.... I saw lots of statues with German
inscriptions but not much else.
There really isn't much here.
