today I'm cycling the Sella Ronda counter clockwise.
I've been dreaming of biking this for two years.
I was torn how I'd climb both Passo Pordio and Passo Gardena from the
east in the morning sun.
I'd tentatively planned to climb Passo Gardena from Corvara, then turn
around and do
the whole thing clockwise.
Having 4 nights in Corvara was a much better plan since that let me
ride the whole thing both ways.
I took tons of pictures yesterday, but I needed to take them all again
today because the skies were so much clearer.

I watched the Sassolungo "coffin lift" all during lunch, then went over
for a closer look.

I stopped for a coke on Passo Pordio.
One of the many motorcyclists talked to me in very very broken English,
the only word I understood was he kept repeating "Respect!"
I finally realized he meant me...

Dusty: Saw a helicopter evac after ground ambulance passed me twice
coming up Passo Pordio...

Kent: Looks fantastic! I'd be looking for a class 4 route up one
of those Dolomites!!! Love that wine in Italy is as cheap or
cheaper than bottled water.

Dusty: Beer only for me this trip I'm ashamed to...I keep looking at
wine in the menu then chicken out and pick beer, I'm worried I'd get
even more dehydrated than with beer...

Paul: Once I was at Lake Como during a solo trip and an Italian told me
that the trick to staying hydrated and avoiding over drinking was to
drink wine the Italian way..
Paul: one glass of wine, one glass of water, repeat
Paul: Don't pour another glass of wine until the water is gone
Paul: Simple, but probably works if you commit to it
