The American app showed our plane to Burlington has been parked at this gate in Philadelphia overnight.
The pilots failed to check the fuel until 14 minutes before our
scheduled takeoff, or at least that's when we heard about this very big
bucket of fail...
We were told they have to remove 6000 pounds of fuel from our plane before we can leave.
When I asked, they said our landing weight would be too high, and the
removed fuel is considered contaminated and must be discarded.
At least we have not boarded.
This turned into a 2 hour delay since it is apparently impossible to
call for an expedited fuel truck, you have to wait for them to make
their rounds and show up whenever.
