Monday morning was a chilly 48 degrees and foggy from all the rain on Sunday.
Kathy and I drove the Teton Village - Moose loop to find animals.
Number of interesting animals seen - zero.

Later that morning we wandered around Jackson and shopped, then had lunch at Pinky G's pizza and watched the Olympics.

I made reservations to go on the 2:45pm Dave Hansen 4 hr whitewater rafting on the Snake River.
Why Dave Hansen?
They still had availability, and they were a 2 minute walk from our hotel.
I picked the 8 person raft, it sounded a little more exciting.

It takes about 30 minutes to ride the bus to the start of the rafting trip.

It was sunny and relatively warm with a water temperature of 65 degrees

We got paired with a family from somewhere back east - they had two younger daughters.

Our guide Patrick showed CJ and Robby a game where you stand on the raft, lock paddles with someone else, then lean back.
Eventually someone looses their balance and falls in
Robby gave his paddle a quick hard shove, sending CJ into the river.
Later Robby got in as well.

Robby 'rode the bull' on the one rapid they allow it.

Toward the end of the trip our guide Patrick proudly told us he had guided 85 whitewater trips this season with no boat flips. I then asked how many people had been ejected - he said 'about 10'. He clearly wasn't going to tell us that statistic until I asked.
Patrick was guiding a group of Brits on a scenic (boring) trip in Teton National Park the day before when the severe storm and hail hit. The Brits took it all in stride but it sounded like hell.
