It was 37 degrees at 6:30am
I went on a solo drive from 6:30am to 8:45am looking for animals.

I saw almost no animals, the only animal I saw up close was a single deer near Jenny Lake
The Park Service closed off access to the shoreline at Jenny Lake, which used to be the world's best picnic spot
This really ruined one of my favorite places.
I climbed over their barriers anyway to take a picture but this ruled out a picnic at lunchtime

We decided to have a picnic lunch at Lupine Meadows trailhead

When I arrived I talked to a guy who had just solod Teewinot.
He told me two girls slipped and died last year
(I attempted Teewinot with Kent and his family in 2008. On the way down his sister slipped and slid perhaps a hundred years on the steep snow, very narrowly avoided horrific injuries.)

Lunch was nice but a little breezy.

The kids drove over to Jackson Lake Lodge and spent the afternoon watching Olympics and using the free wifi.
The rest of us relaxed and napped, then joined the kids at Jackson Lake Lodge for dinner.

We ate dinner out on the patio.
The service was horrid but the view was fantastic.

After dinner we drove around looking for animals again.
We saw 3 pronghorns up close.
We saw a mama moose from a distance very briefly but Kathy missed it.
Overall better than yesterday but still not great animal viewing.
