Kent: The route never really gets climbed this time of year, because it's so much easier with more snow

Kent: I had to use crampons and axe and on way up it was ok but sort of close to the line because so steep
Kent: Then coming down the snow had gotten softer from the heat of the day and even less comfortable

Kent: The koven goes way down to "safe" glacier moraine right below cliff of prong
Kent: Very committing rapping off the prong
Kent: I descended after via koven
Kent: On sight downclimb
Kent: That was a relief when I got to the moraine!

Kent: I observed 3 helicopter rescues when I climbed the Matterhorn 10 years ago tomorrow

Kent: One section above the Koven where the route goes was a huge waterfall
Kent: I tried to climb it, but was pushed back and I couldn't get soaking wet
Kent: So, after a while I spotted a weakness in the cliff face to the left that I did climb
Kent: It was harder than 5.4
Kent: The snow makes the pain of negotiating millions of boulders easier too
Kent: I know I'm the only person that climbed it that day, or even within the past days

The breakfast was fantastic, great food and service.

Colosseum underground tour, then Palatine hill and Forum, then yummy tapas at Osteria della Coppelle...
Dusty: 25 people on our 1h guided Coluseum tour, one older guy passed
out from the heat near the end, guide had to call for assistance (we
did not see him, he didn't make it up the final set of stairs), saw 2
ambulances outside..
Dusty: damn near anyone coulda passed out from the heat today down there...

Paul: We got stuck at an outside table there for 30 minutes as the police closed all access to that piazza
Paul: Michelle Obama came to dine next door at Restorante Maccherni and
they wouldn't let anybody in that square in or out until she got inside
the restaurant and it was secured
Paul: Barack was in Rome for a G8 summit I believe.

was eating was really good, and he said, "No - my place is much better"
