I’m recovering today from a true epic.
Included a summit. Rimpfischhorn
(located right behind Allalinhorn).
A 3a start all on my own.
A 2 hour wrong turn.
I tripped on easy flat ground once I found the track again that
resulted in a dislocated ring finger!
30 degrees to the right at first joint!
Took three big pull efforts to pop it back into joint.
Felt good and had full strength after I got it back in socket…
I’ve tripped a million times, and nothing like that!
Never dislocated a finger.
Wish I had taken a picture, but I was tripp’n.
Decided to keep going up.
Summitted late.
Returned to hut too late to catch lift down.
Normally a 10-12 hour tour.
Mine was 14 hours.
Stayed another night in hut.
Finger swelled up day after.
Now it’s mostly better.
Want to climb more because I finally feel fit, but weather is changing
up from the great conditions for past couple of weeks.
May call it a few days early.
Don’t want to pay to go up jungfraujoch in a storm or play dice with
the weather in these mountains.
