It seemed a little early for lunch, but I wanted a beer at the Bell in Hand, and I saw tourists getting off buses headed this way, so I sat down and ordered.
I noticed that most of their menu was fried crab and ordered a burger and fries.
A few minutes later I decided I ought to tell them I am allergic to crab and lobster if they have that much of it on the menu.
I have learned - by asking, not an ER visit for an allergic reaction - that avoiding cross contaimination is impossible at some places.
My waitress got a panicked look on her face, then rushed downstairs.
I few minutes later she came back up and announced that the kitchen had NOT fried anything yet today prior to my meal, my meal was safe.
I assume I won't be eating here again unless I somehow manage to arrive at opening time.

12:49

I wandered back over to the Paul Revere house again just as they were letting a pre-paid tour group through the entrance.
I snuck into the back of the line like I belonged and nobody said anything.
I then got a free $10 tour of the Paul Revere house!
No pics allowed inside.
The first two rooms were ok.
By the time we went upstairs I had seen and heard enough and wandered off.

There were three brewpubs I wanted to get beers at based on reddit.
Bell in Hand was the first.
Warren's Tavern I had already passed back in Charleston on the way to Bunker Hill at 9am - it wasn't open yet.
Now it is just after 1pm, I had lunch and my first beer and I had completed the Freedom Trail.
I had nothing better to do than walk back to Charleston to see the inside of Warren's Tavern

After nursing a beer at Warren's Tavern, I had checked off two of the three brewpubs on my short list.
I wandered right back to Union Street for the third, the Green Dragon

14:20

After I ordered the forgettable Dragon seasonal beer, I asked what Sam Brick Red was.
Sam Brick Red is sold only by brewpubs along the Freedom Trail
I asked for a taste, it was good, but I was now three beers into the afternoon and could not handle a fourth right now.
What I really wanted was to crash for 90 minutes then have dinner.
Most places didn't open for dinner until 5pm.
However it would take 90 minutes to get back to my hotel room, then back downtown.
I passed the time by looking at menus to find the best place for dinner.

I selected Trattoria Il Panino for the risotto.
Once I was seated I was delighted to learn that the special was Chilean sea bass, the kind you're not supposed to eat because it is endangered, so of course I ordered it.
Best piece of fish I've ever eaten....
