As we were boarding our plane to Philadelphia they told us there is a ground stop in Philadelphia....
Everyone got off the plane
Soon everyone was in line trying to rebook their flight.
After maybe 20 minutes the American app let me rebook through Chicago instead of Philadelphia - I took it immediately.
Unfortunately the app does not sure you that your NEW flight to Chicago is also delayed until after you've made the change.
Oh well.
It appeared nobody else was able to get rebooked at Customer Service - I was lucky.
I MAY have had priority since I was an Alaska passenger flying on American (or not, not sure).
The waitlist for my flight to Chicago soon went to 29 people long....
I tried to get rebooked onto Alaska to fly through Seattle
American would not do it, and Alaska only had business class available so they would have charged me way too many miles.
I was not able to get a seat assignment, however.

There aren't many of these lounges and somehow I found two of them on this trip.

Nobody bothered to show up until 7 minutes before the scheduled boarding time.
I re-learned the only reason American is better than Southwest is because they are an international airline.
Domestically they're essentialy both budget crappy airlines without seatback entertainment.
While Southwest employees are generally friendly, American employees seemed universally apathetic at best.

When I finally got to Chicago I still did not have a seat assignment for the flight to San Francisco.
I ran past the Cubs Bar and Grill, sadly did not get to stop....

As we were boarding the plane to San Francisco they announced that the
captain had found a problem with one of the plane's tires.
I hadn't boarded yet.
This gave me a chance to eat my Chicago dog on the ground instead of having it fall into my lap in the plane.
I also bought to pecan caramel corn from Nuts on Clark at Kathy's request

This was the line for the restroom, it was anything but relaxing.
We landed at 208am....
