We took it easy on the beach.  We had breakfast and spent time swimming.  The water in the bay was moderately polluted - full of junk - and it was dirtiest closest to our hotel.  I correctly surmised that the town would shut down for the afternoon siesta - by 1pm the streets were nearly deserted and almost all shops were closed.  

Walking the streets of Sestri Levante, we heard only Italian - Sestri Levate is a vacation destination known only to the Italians.  We overheard English speaking travelers only once or twice a day, and it was a disappointment when we heard our native tongue!

There were gelato shops all over town.  We picked Gelateria Carrugio more or less at random since it looked good, and were quite pleased.  Turned out to be Rick's favorite as well. 

We ate at Pizza Jaimaca all three nights.  We tried to find another restaurant, but nothing opened early enough for us.

Later that afternoon Bob, CJ, Robby and I headed to the co-op, which was quite near the train station.  We loaded up on munchies and amazingly cheap beer and Asti.  We ended the relaxing day with the bottle of Asti on the hotel's patio.
