Wednesday morning we were at the dock for the 6:50 waterbus to the airport.  The flight from Venice to Munich was uneventful.  As we were approaching the airport, CJ & I were both convinced we saw a large white 'dot' in the alps 50 miles to the south - Neuschwanstein!  We had a painfully long layover in Munich - just long enough to fall asleep before the flight to London boarded.  I found an English paperback 5th Harry Potter book to pass the time.  Once we landed at Heathrow we were forced to hike several miles before we found a bathroom, then another several miles to our gate for the flight to Washington.  We watched TV at the gate right after they announced London had won the 2012 Summer Olympics.  The flight to Washington passed quickly enough (if it didn't, thankfully, I don't remember!).  Once we reached the hotel, Marshall was waiting in the lobby, soon to be joined by Carol.
