They recently added an underground entrance to the Van Gogh museum.
Unfortunately you must wait outside in line before you're allowed in - we waited for a very cold hour.
The new entrance seemed to be a complete waste, given that crowds are stranded in the elements outside.
Unfortunately we couldn't take pictures in the Van Gogh museum.
We walked across Museumplein to the Rijksmuseum, where we saw the a few Rembrandts, a half dozen Van Goghs, and headed back to the hotel for a nap.

For dinner we had tapas at Tapas Bar Catala on Spuistraat.
Dinner was good but not great.
Later we got drinks at De Brabranste AAP
I made the mistake of asking the bartender for a recommendation for a good Belgian beer.
He responded gruffly as though I'd insulted his mother: "Why do you want a Belgian beer?  You're in Holland.  Why not try a beer from Holland?"
I took his advice and he poured me a nice beer.. that was nothing like a Belgian.
He scared Kathy... and me.
