My first full day in Rome!

One of the best sites I've missed in Rome is the Borghese Gallary.  According to Rick Steves you need to need reservations to get in, and reservations are typically sold out days in advance.  I checked on my iPhone - they had a reservation available for first thing Thursday morning!.  I tried to book a reservation but I wasn't able to get 'verified by visa'.  I called Chase and after a lengthy phone call I was able to get a reservation while I walked about a mile and a half over to the Borghese.

This page has nearly 150 pictures from the Borghese Gallary and National Museum of Rome... and not much else!

Borghese Gallerria

On the hike back from the Borghese Gallerria I bought a Gusto Limone Gatorade and was immediately hooked.
For the rest of the trip I looked for Gusto Limone Gatorade at every train station and convenience store to quench my thirst
I later was disappointed to learn you can't buy it in the States, and I can't find anything that tastes like it...

Porta Pinciana

I made a quick 20 minute visit to the Cappuccin Crypt - they don't allow pics.
After two previous failed attempted on different trips, I finally got to Santa Maria della Vittoria Church when it was open.  Unfortunately they were holding mass for St Peter and Paul Day and I wasn't able to see Bernini's St Teresa in Ecstacy from the back of the church.
I stopped by the Baths of Diocletian but they were also holding mass so I couldn't get a good look at the 'sundial' on the floor.

Finally I got to the National Museum of Rome.
I'd been here only once before in 2003 and didn't get to see the entire collection.
The collection was better than I remembered, and is on par with the collections in the museums in Naples and Lyon.
