Dusty: Drove down to Homer
Dusty: Cloudy almost the whole way, got a bit of sun near a Russian
Orthodox church in Ninilchik when it counted when we could see Redoubt
and other volcanos across Cook Inlet
We ended up getting better pictures in real sunlight on the way back so
you don't get to see until the next page...
We found a room above Sealion
Art Gallary on the Homer Spit and ate at Captain Patties in the same
building
Dusty: Amazing seafood, tastes like it is still swimming..
Dusty: Got to see some of the amazing view of the mountains and
glaciers across the Kachemak Bay before it started raining and it all
turned gray
Dusty: Got fairly wet walking around
Dusty: Hoping for better weather tomorrow but we're already very
happy we got to see anything down here
Dusty: We've watched maybe 6-8 episodes of Buying Alaska when
they were near Homer and it doesn't disappoint.
Dusty: If we returned to Alaska we'd skip Anchorage entirely and head
down here..
Dusty: or anywhere outside of Anchorage

Finally it cleared off!
Kathy and I walked out to the end of the spit.
We could see somewhat better, but there were still plenty of clouds.
We came back and read for a while in the room.

I noticed the sun came out right before the sun was going to go down
for the night.
I raced outside and ran down to the end of the spit to try to get
pictures....

And I was not disappointed.
While my lens wasn't good enough to take great pictures from this
distance, the scenery was stunning.
I was now one for three on the sites I really wanted to see on this
trip, all glacial - Homer, Denali, and Glacier Bay.

Kent: I left Murten after just one night
Kent: I took slooow train from Murten to Bern and did some people
watching at the swim area
Kent: It's been hot this trip
Kent: Was cool to see so many people swimming/floating the river
Kent: Looked for room, but found a deal in Thun again so figured
I'd stay here one more night and skate
Kent: Happy I did
I head home in a little over 24 hours
Kent: Will probably go into Geneva today.

cleared off....this is why I came to Alaska, to see these mountains
from the end of Homer spit

Dusty: I could definitely see it was a sea otter from my
tiny viewfinder, so the video ought to be at least ok..
