Looking south from Col du Galibier Barre des Écrins 4102m is on the left, it is the southernmost 4000m peak in the Alps and one of only two 4000m peaks in France, the other being Mt Blanc which is shared with Italy. La Meije 3984m is in the center Not the way I climbed..

It started to sleet when I reached the cobbles - it stopped after a minute. This picture was taken the next day. It started to snow on top of Edelweissspritze about 20 minutes after I took this picture.
