We were on the road by 6:15am.  The Clark Fork River valley near the town of Paradise, Montana is not to be missed.  Maps do not do justice to the size of the Montana - it took us nearly 3 hours to get out of Montana from Glacier, then another hour to get across Idaho.  I decided Idaho is simply in the way.  Perhaps it has something to offer somewhere, but I didn’t see it. 

We had lunch at a Pizza Hut buffet in Pasco, Washington, then kept driving.  We reached the Portland area just before rush hour.  Traffic slowed down considerably on I-5 – too many cars.  After about 12 hours of driving we found a Comfort Inn in Eugene, then had dinner at the Original Roadhouse Grill.
